Cryptocurrencies available on Veltrum
Each asset on the Veltrum platform is reviewed for market maturity, regulatory clarity, and liquidity before being made available for trading. The list reflects a deliberate, considered approach rather than a race to add every new token.
How assets are selected
Veltrum does not list every cryptocurrency that exists. The platform focuses on assets with established market history, meaningful liquidity, and a degree of regulatory clarity in the United States. New assets are reviewed against these criteria before any listing decision is made.
This approach means the selection is smaller than some platforms. That is intentional. A curated list of well-understood assets is more appropriate for a regulated platform than an exhaustive catalog of speculative tokens.
Bitcoin
BTCBitcoin is the original cryptocurrency, introduced in 2009. It operates on a decentralized network using proof-of-work consensus. Bitcoin has the longest track record of any digital asset and has been the subject of significant regulatory attention in the United States. The CFTC has characterized Bitcoin as a commodity in various enforcement actions.
Ethereum
ETHEthereum introduced programmable smart contracts to blockchain technology. It transitioned to proof-of-stake consensus in 2022. Ethereum supports a wide range of decentralized applications and has been the subject of ongoing regulatory discussion in the United States regarding its classification. It remains one of the most actively traded digital assets globally.
USD Coin
USDCUSD Coin is a regulated stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. It is issued by Circle and maintained at a 1:1 ratio with the dollar through reserve assets. USDC provides a way to hold value in digital asset accounts without exposure to cryptocurrency price volatility. It is widely used for transfers and as a stable store of value within digital asset ecosystems.
Litecoin
LTCLitecoin was introduced in 2011 as a modification of the Bitcoin protocol with faster block times and a different hashing algorithm. It has maintained a consistent presence in digital asset markets for over a decade. The CFTC has referenced Litecoin as a commodity in enforcement proceedings, providing some regulatory context for its classification in the United States.
Additional Assets
Under ReviewVeltrum periodically reviews additional digital assets for potential listing. Assets under consideration are evaluated against the platform's criteria for market maturity, liquidity, and regulatory clarity. When an asset meets those criteria and the necessary compliance review is complete, it may be added to the platform.
Important information about digital asset risk
Cryptocurrency products involve risk, including the possible loss of principal. Digital asset prices can be highly volatile and can decline significantly over short periods. Past performance of any asset is not indicative of future results. Veltrum does not provide investment advice and does not make recommendations about any specific asset. Users should consider their own financial circumstances before trading. Services are not available in all states. Not FDIC insured.
Managing assets after purchase
After purchasing any supported asset on Veltrum, users have the option to transfer holdings to the Veltrum software wallet for self-managed custody. In self-custody, the user holds the private keys. The platform does not have access to wallet funds after transfer.
Users can also maintain assets in their Veltrum exchange account if they prefer platform-managed custody. Both options are available, and the choice can be made at any time.
